UPDATE: JANUARY 10, 2016

2015 Recap:
2015 was a great year.  I began to travel to Illinois, Indiana, and even Oklahoma, to race with the best Micro Outlaw drivers in the nation.  I raced on a total of 8 different tracks.  I learned so much throughout the year, and although we battled engine issues most of the year, we were able to pull off some big wins in Indiana.  I won 4 features at US-24 Speedway in Logansport, IN including the prestigious Carol Smith Memorial, and I also won at Coles County Speedway in Matoon, IL.  I think though, the most memorable part of 2015 was making it to my first A-Main Feature Start at the High Banks Hustle in Marion, IL.  What an adrenaline rush it was to be in the 4-wide salute alongside the best micro drivers in the Nation!

2016: We are anticipating a big year for 2016! We have a full schedule in the books, including the High Banks Hustle-IL, the Port City Nationals-OK, the Tulsa Shoot-Out-OK, and Speed Weeks, IL.  I will also be racing some of the POWRi Series races throughout IL and IN, and possibly, if the schedule allows, I will run for a Championship at US-24 Speedway, IN.  I am hoping to exceed my number of wins from last year!

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 8, 2015

These last few weeks have been a quite a roller coaster ride for the #66.  Battling transmission issues for the past several weeks, hoping not to have to pull the motor…but unfortunately it continued to get worse. We went against better judgement and chose to run for another weekend, and although we continued with issues, we are glad we did.  We were able to claim another WIN at US-24 Speedway. Pulled the motor, and going to let MOMO work his magic. Hoping to be back in a couple weeks.
Also, this past weekend, we had the privilege of meeting Eric Saunders.  Eric races a micro, non-wing.  Eric has a tragic story, but, you do not see it as tragic when you actually meet him.  Eric was in a motocross accident, and became paralyzed from the chest down.  That is the tragic part.  Eric chose not to give up on his passions for racing, and with support, determination, and a new mindset, he now races his dirt micro, controlling it completely with his hands. He is an inspiration, an awesome driver, and just and all-around great guy. It has been an honor getting to know him.

UPDATE: AUGUST 27, 2015

#66 goes 3 in a row! After an unfortunate rain-out at the POWRi show in Macon, IL, the trek was on to find another track to sink our tires in.  Infinity Shocks, AJ, led us to Coles County Speedway, a track we had never seen before, about an hour from the Macon track.  We pulled in to literally roll the car on the track for hot laps.  It didn't take long before the #66 found the fast line, and the front of the pack.  Same results for the 2nd heat.  Started 3rd of 8 cars for the feature race, and drove it to
VICTORY LANE!

UPDATE: AUGUST 18, 2015

#66 Back in VICTORY LANE at US-24 Speedway, IN…
Our night started off well at the 2015 Carol Smith Memorial.  We took fast time in qualifying against some of Indiana and Ohio's most talented drivers.  Started 4th in the heat, we quickly moved up to 2nd, but ran out of laps.  Feature race started us 2nd out of 15 cars, and within the first couple laps, took the lead and held it over 4 cautions, to bring home the win! It was a great night of racing, and an awesome celebration!

UPDATE: AUGUST 2, 2015

Logan's 2nd win of the year, at US-24 Speedway! Took 3rd in first heat, and started 4th in the feature of 8 cars.  Quickly got to the front and held the lead to put the #66 in VICTORY LANE!

UPDATE: MAY 26, 2015

Feature Win! Victory Lane at US-24 Speedway for the #66!

Weekend in review:
Started our race weekend at US-24 Speedway on Saturday.  Went out for qualifying hot laps, only to have to pull off due to temperature issues.  Headed out for the heat race, only to have to pull in again, this time due to clutch malfunction.  Nothing seemed to be going our way.  Adjusted the clutch, and made it in to the feature.  Had to start at the tail end of 9 cars.  By lap 15, I had made it up to 1st place.  Held the lead through 3 restarts to take the checkered flag and put the #66 in victory lane for the first win of 2015!

Next up, was Miami County Speedway, Peru, IN. Our night started off with more engine issues. Starter  didn't want to fire…we would have to push start our car through the night.  Hot laps looked good.  Pill draw started 5th in my heat of 8 cars.  By lap 4 I cleared the 3rd spot only to have him chop down on my rear tires turning us both around and starting us back at the tail.  Finished the race in 5th.  Started 10th in the feature.  Track slicked over quicker than we had expected and my car had nothing for it.  Fortunately, I made a 7th place car up to finish 4th place.  Over-all great weekend! one WIN, and a top 5 with no damage to the car.

UPDATE: MAY 21, 2015

Race details from the weekend:

So, after 15 hours of driving, and being rained out from 3 tracks (2 POWRi tracks)- we ended up at Miami County Speedway, IN for their Annual "Salute to the Troops" race... First time at the track, started 5th in our heat, finished 3rd...that put us in the A-Main Feature starting 7th of 22 cars. By lap 2 of the feature we were running 5th but unfortunately we took the high line and got bumped in the bumper and spun...back to 22nd we went:(
But - we held it together, had patients, and dominated the field passing 15 cars in 20 laps to finish 7th!!
We wanted a win, but honestly, pretty awesome coming all the way from the back of the field. Everyone was wondering who we were and where we were from:)
Good day for the team!
...next up-2 day, 2-track show next weekend:)

 UPDATE: April 13, 2015

This past week, we were fortunate enough to visit the Roush-Fenway Racing Shop.  Thanks to a                 longtime Intense Racing supporter, and CEO of Roush, Andy Wozniaki, we had a private tour of the facility.  It was an amazing experience.  The process and work that goes into each car for each race was extremely impressive.  We have a whole new respect for NASCAR.  We also were lucky enough to see practice on pit lane, and talk to some of the pit crew for the Roush-Fenway drivers.  Following our visit, we stopped by Charlotte Motor Speedway, to have lunch over the track.  It has been on the list of things to see, and it was just as awesome as we had expected.

UPDATE: March 30, 2015 First Race Update
Here is our weekend in review-
(First, you should know, we are trying to adjust Logan to a new set-up with the car this year- working together with Micro Icon, "The Legendary" Frank Flud, we switched shock companies, went to a larger front wing, new torsion bar arms, increased stagger, added pitch to the wings, and our refreshed MOMO racing motor is running 9 more horse power.  All to get Logan competitive for the prestigious PowerI Outlaw Series)

We had planned to get practice in on Thursday, to work out all the bugs, but a tornado had touched down in Tulsa on Wednesday night and the track ended up being flooded. No Practice.
Friday was tough- Logan raced cautiously as he really wasn't feeling confident with the new set-up. He ran his heats, ended up in the B feature and struggled just to keep the car under him. Not having practice with this new set-up really hurt us.

Saturday, Logan worked with Frank Flud, to make adjustments on the chassis, and talk driving strategies. Logan went out for the heat and looked great. Car was holding well, and Logan was able to feel a little more confident with it. A couple more small adjustments before the B-feature, where Logan would start 11th in the 12 lap race. In the first 8 laps, Logan passed 7 cars. A tangle in the back of the pack caused a caution, we would re-start in the 4th spot, and looking for a win. Going for the green, 3rd place checked up as Logan was going for the high line and unfortunately ended in a spin of the 3rd place car. Back to the tail of the field Logan went. With 4 to go, Logan dug hard and made it up to the 3rd spot, only missing the transfer by 1 spot (only top 2 make transfer to the A feature). BUT- Logan came off the track with a smile from ear to ear, saying
"I'm Back"!!
Kind of came a little too late, but not bad for our first race of the season, on the most difficult track with the top micro drivers in the nation, a new set-up, and no practice. All in all, finished every race without a scratch on the car, and there are not many that could say the same!
We are definitely now ready for the 15' season. Next up- two day PowerI show, 2 tracks, Jacksonville & Macon Speedway, Illinois, April 24 & 25!

UPDATE: November  24, 2014
Wow...What an amazing first season we had.  I cannot thank all my supporters enough, for their efforts, and for watching me progress during my first year as a 600 Micro Outlaw Driver.  I sure learned a lot through the year, so did my pit crew.  I raced most of my races at my "home track", Jackson Speedway, Jackson, MI. Here, I won 5 races, and had 2 fast time qualifiers. I also raced the largest field of cars, 25, on their 1/6 mile track.  Although I missed the last few races, I was able to wrap up 2nd in points.  I chose to finish out my season racing at US 24 Speedway in Logansport, IN. Their track is 1/8 mile. I enjoyed the competition at US 24, their track, and their race format. Last, I attended the Micro Outlaw Nationals in Tulsa, OK, where I was able to drive with the best drivers in the sport. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget.  Although I missed the A-Main event (by only 2 positions), I raced 7 heats & qualifiers, winning on of my heats against Joe B. Miller (3 time PowerI Champ), and parked my car completely un-damaged after the week of racing. I met so many great guys who took me under their wing, including the Legendary Frank Flud, Shawn Conde, Mike Ross, Bobby Sawyer, and countless others. I cannot wait to go back next year with more experience under my belt.

Besides 600 racing in 2014, I was also lucky enough, thanks to one of my amazing sponsors John and Kristie Haugh, to drive a Radical SR3, in Nevada.  I love the dirt, but racing on a road course is my dream. It was an intense 2 full day course, but I loved every minute of it. 0-60 in 3 seconds, 135mph on straight-aways, cornering at 2.5 G's...It put some hair on my chest.  I am the youngest driver to date, and the youngest to pass the course, allowing me to drive at any Radical track in the nation.

I was recently featured in the Oakland Press, for my 2014 racing achievements.  It made me proud to see racing in the local sports section of the Sunday paper. I enjoyed telling my story to the reporter, and the article turned out great.

My proudest moment, in racing to date, was being accepted to team up with "Paws and Stripes" for the upcoming 2015 season. Because of their efforts, we chose them to be our beneficiary and they accepted.  Paws and Stripes is a nonprofit organization providing service dogs for wounded military veterans with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury through integrated service dog training and education with mental health support.  Their dogs come ONLY from local rescues, and their dog trainers teach the dogs and veterans as a team.  I am honored to team up with such an amazing organization, and I am excited to pay it forward.  I will be donating a percentage of my race earnings, as well as my fundraising efforts, to Paws and Stripes.  If you would like to donate and help save a veteran, please send a check payable to : Paws and Stripes, C/O Detroit Gun Club, P.O. Box 913, Union Lake, MI 48387. 100% of all checks will be sent directly to Paws and Stripes, on my behalf. For more information, visit www.pawsandstripes.org, OR watch their new show, DOGS of War on A&E, Sunday nights.

My 2014 season would have not been possible without my team of sponsors. I was born to race.  It is my true passion.  But without my sponsors, racing would only remain a dream.  Because of them, I am able to chase my future of someday becoming a Formula 1 driver.

John and Kristie Haugh - Diamond Plus Sponsor
Jay Schreibman, LSG Insurance - Diamond Sponsor
Lauren Best and Bob Stevenson, National Element - Platinum Sponsor
Randy and Toni Kowalski, Home Care America - Platinum Sponsor

I can't wait to get back behind the wheel for the 2015 season!

Logan Wenneshiemer
